For those keeping track, I have just traded in one of my walking days for another table tennis time.
I know you posters want me energetic.

Meanwhile, please do no research nor reprint questions.

1..What's more memorable in Greece in 1896 than anything else?

2..The term "walkabout" got especial use in describing what tennis star?

3..The language of diplomacy went from..? to..? to..?

4..While Indonesia is a Muslim country, one famous island(?) therein is largely Hindu.

5..Emperor Ming makes life rough for..? to the tune of..?..by..?

6..The top ten for both males and females in the Boston Marathon are from what 3 countries?

7..Who won our presidency while once a Solicitor General and a Sec'y of War?

8..Which Church Father is largely responsible for the Catholic version of the bible?

9..That there is an April Fool's Day is thought to be connected to the Gregorian Calendar. Explain.

10.."Through the hourglass I saw you, in time you slipped away."

11.."Give us Barabbas!" Explain, and then put him in the movies.

12..Within 25 years when does Ponce de Leon reach Florida?

13..An early Woody Allen wife was later, um, cloned. Say what?

1. The first modern Olympiad
2. Evonne Goolagong?
4. Bali
5. Buck Rogers _ don't know the music
7. Taft - I knew reading his biography might pay off some day
8. Douay or Rheims ?? Seem to remember that related to the Bible.
11. Chant from the crowd Pilate asked about who to release - Barrabas or Jesus. In the movie, Barabbas was played by Anthony Quinn, I think

3. Latin to French to English.

4. Bali

5. Flash Gordon (I feel compelled to point out that he's an entirely different different than The Flash :) )

6. Kenya, Ethiopia, and USA

12. 1575

5. to fill out Wally's answer a bit, Flash Gordon, the song "Flash", by Queen

13. Louise Lasser who was cloned, so to speak (name repeated), in "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman." My favorite Louise Lasser scene in a Woody Allen movie was the consummation of the marriage in Bananas with Howard Cosell providing play by play. Hilarious.

1. The return of the Olympic Games ,or more accurately, the start of the modern Olympic games.
2. Rod Laver
2. Evonne Goolagong
4. Jakarta
4. Borneo
5. Flash Gordon
6. Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea
7. James Madison
8. Saint Peter
12. 1519. This might be the proper response for a Magellan question, but given +- 25 years, I like my chances.

5..A bombastic symphonic poem by Franz.

9..Previously New Years Day had been April 1st. Can you take it from there?

10..Recall "Top Gun".

9..Previously New Years Day had been April 1st. Can you take it from there?[/QUOTE]

Can't remember all the particulars but a Pope was instrumental in having the calendar changed to the Gregorian calendar.

That should be..... 'a Pope Gregory was instrumental in having the calendar changed to the Gregorian calendar. Which one I'm not sure.

1.First modern Olympics

7..Taft

11.Choice given to crowd by Pontius Pilate to let either Barabbas or Christ be freed; Anthony Quinn played Barabbas in the movie of the same name

12..1516

1..Geordi, VAUC & hoop, finishing last at the Boston Marathon, enviously acknowledge the modern Olympics.

2..Australian natives refer to a sort of losing of focus, and whenever Ms. Goolagong went off her feed on the tennis court,
geordi & VAUC pointed their fingers and giggled.

3..True, Wally, though your petition to move to sign language went nowhere.

4..Bali Hai called geordi & Wally. I suppose it's better than ISIS ringing.

5..Wally & VAUC were no match for Ming, paticularly when they couldn,t come up with Les Preludes by Liszt.

6..There is no match for the Kenyans and Ethiopians, for no other nation employs rhinoceroses as chase cars.
Oh, and Wally includes some Americans as also-rans.

7..Geordi comes by reading late in life. He and Wally actually remember stuff, like Taft.

8..JC correctly fingers St. Jerome. Geordi would have also known had he ever read a second book.

9..After a sterling answer to Q8, JC returns to gobledegook. Anyway, some folks were stereotyped as April fools, cause they refused to
acknowledge the new calendar.

10.."Sappy" says Meyers about the tune his wife wanted at their marriage, but he browbeat her to make
"Comfortably Numb" as the wedding song.

11..And so Pontius did free him, and Anthony hauled ass out of there. Geordi & hoop admit being in the crowd
but deny shouting.

12..Hoop & VAUC are in range of 1513: Wally thought I was refering to his grandson, who discovered Disney World.

13..Rbny is our authority of all things chuckleworthy.

6..There is no match for the Kenyans and Ethiopians, for no other nation employs rhinoceroses as chase cars.
Oh, and Wally includes some Americans as also-rans.
The book "Taboo" (by Jon Entine) tries to address this.

"Comfortably Numb" as the wedding song.
Second marriage, so we used "At Last" (Etta James). Although I would have been fine with Comfortably Numb. ;)

Hey! Hey! Hey! I'm half way through it. Dick and Jane just found Spot.

What? Among my following there be illiterati?!! Those who walk the streets calling out to all who would listen, "See Spot run".
For your penance, read a Nancy Drew book ere you post again.
