Here's a distraction from obsessing how "awful" the team was vs. Ohio St.

No research please nor reprinting questions.

1..In 1783 the Brits abandon their last military position. Where?

2..These folks(?) eat one grape for each midnight chime on New Years Day.

3..The "Peace Dove" was designed by whom?

4..The artist known for melting clocks?

5..The Rootie ________ Club. And place it.

6..The colony of Maryland was founded as a haven for..?.

7..Contemporary actress Kate ________ can be linked to Richard III. How so?

8..This "Wizard of Santa Rosa" developed 800+ plant varieties.

9..Fronted by Jimmy Beaumont, its 2nd biggest hit was "This I Swear".

10..What does Harry Truman credit for transforming his early racism?

11..During the last week of Nov, 1943, FDR, Churchill & Stalin meet where?

12..A concert crush kills 11 in 1979 Cincinnati. The performers?

13..The most powerful hurricane(?) ever to hit the US, devastates Mississippi.

1. Yorktown, I think
4. Dali
6. Catholics
11. Yalta
12. The Who
13. Camille - tho', both the Labor Day hurricane of, oh, 1936 or so, and Andrew have their advocates. Those two storms were quite intense, but smaller, I think.

Good morning Pinot, you are 4 of 6.

Great to get an early start. Or are you just coming in from a night of debauchery???

4. Salvator Dali
5. Kazootie
8. Luther Burbank
10. Tehran
12. Who??? The Who

Wish I could still handle nights of debauchery.

You're a mean one Mr. Wirechief. You really are a heel. ;)

1. Cornwallis got himself surrounded at Yorktown. Which was the last major battle. But I imagine they probably still had troops elsewhere??
11. Yalta
12. The Who. I remember the WKRP episode.

1. That was New York, wasn't it? Howe was still holed up in NYC at the time of Yorktown.

1..In 1783 the Brits abandon their last military position. Where?
2..Spaniards, particularly in Andalusia
3..John Lennon
4..Salvadore Dali
6..Papists, as they were derogatorily called in England
11..Yalta -- probably wrong war, but all I got
13..Mary? Early '50s?

1 - NYC
8 - Burbank
11 - thought Yalta was later, the one where FDR looked so ill. I'll go with Casablanca.

.-.
1..Geordi & Knights are on target. Last troops were in NYC.

2..JR singles out Andalusia, though may be more widespread in Portugal.

3..Look to this very famous creator of Cubism.

4..JR, geordi & pinot are on time by citing Salvadore Dali.

5..Geordi fills in Kazootie, a puppet TV show in early 50's.

6..Bishop Fulton J Sheen's group(that's me in the spotlight, not losing my religion).
Pinot, zorro & JR.

7..Think of Richard's demise.

8..Luther Burbank--VAUC, Knights & geordi.

9..Drive comes in with a testament to his love of doowop, the Skyliners.

10..OK I'll take it. He wrote that his WWI service made him see that African-Americans
held up just as well as whites. Turned him around.

11..Lots of suggestions, but we defer to ed4 with Tehran.

12..Meyers was trampled but survived the Who concert. The experience left him as the shell of himself we know today. Meanwhile geordi is unscathed.

13..Camille was one ferocious lady, and I'm blown away by Pinot's sagacity.

7. I'll take a flyer. Does it have something to do with Beckensale??

.-.
7. What's in a name? My kingdom for a horse, and all that. I must confess me I did not know there was an actress so yclept. Is she, like, famous? And does her end justify her jeans?

Famous like Meryl Streep, no, but famous among the younger. Don't know if I've ever seen her in dungarees, but I'd guess "yes". Think final battle.

I have lost all hope, so...

7..Richard loses his life in the battle of (Kate) Bosworth.

I figured it had to be Bosworth, but had never heard of Kate, so I googled Kate Bosworth, and there it was. The reference to the jeans is that her latest gig is modeling Calvin Kliens, per wikipedia. Richard of Gloucester, incidentally, is one of the most unjustly maligned men in history. The victors write the histories. (At least the early ones.) And, not to be picky, but it is the Battle of Bosworth Field. And I still say it was WF Bach.

When Kate was first married (at age 13), it was to W. C. Field. He only added the "S", when he became so portly, his girth could not be contained in just one field.
I am not at all bothered by your constant, irredeemable, rigid, grandstanding pickiness.
Should you ever run into me, watch your Bach.

.-.
Right Bach atcha! My only concern is for truth and honesty in quizmeistering.

Next, you'll be retiring to the nearest Field for a denim Bach-anale
