5. If it was the Northwest Passage, he obviously made a wrong turn somewhere.

10. The planet Neptune - whose approximate position had been independently calculated by
John Couch Adams (Brit.) and Urbain Leverrier (France), working from irregularities in the
orbit of Uranus, and resulting (of course) in contentiousness for credit. It remains one of
the great triumphs of Newtonian mechanics.

1..Geordi & Pinot pinpoint Montana, near Yellowstone.

2..Finland say geordi & K9.

3..VAUC knows his obscure movies. You can buy used copies of Mandingo online.
Anyway the 1975 flic has Ken Norton, the boxer who died last week.

4..Texas Stadium is correct. K9 & geordi.

5..Actually historically there have been a half dozen places called "Spice Islands",
including Hawaii and Gibraltar. But the ones ol' Ferdo wanted were a group off Indonesia, like VAUC wrote. They were famous for nutmeg and pepper and cloves.

6.."Bath" was named for the type of creamy limestone there.

7..Koch Bros, identified by crown, VAUC & K9.

8..10cc going through a silly phase with I'M NOT IN LOVE. That's K9 singing in the shower.

9..Singhalese

10..Neptune--see rbny for other historical detail.

11..Yes, it's Neil Young(SoCal) and the song is RUNNING DRY. Great slow blues with lamenting violin and twangy geetar.

12..A huge blimp meant to study weather and flying organisms.

13..Carl Banks says the members don't like each other, and thus don't work well together.
