1..The Norman Tabernacle Choir? (Only kidding; an old Tommy Smothers bit.)

2.."The first time ever I saw your face" is the song. Specifically, I believe that this is from the second verse, "The first time ever I kissed your mouth, and felt the earth move in my hands, like.....

3..Facsimile signatures?

6..Fort McHenry, War of 1812

9.. Z_ocalo____.

Good job on #2. Great song, and I was wracking my brains trying to come up with it.

3..One of the more egregious bank faux pas of the mortgage crisis. BOA and I think Countrywide certified a large number of foreclosure cases without looking at the particulars of each case, as required by law. BOA was thumped with a hefty fine and had to re-open any cases not yet closed.
6..Fort McHenry, Baltimore harbor.
10..Because torrential rains have washed out some towns & destabilized the ground in a large area. Power & water utilities are not available nor expected to return for weeks. Mudslides are feared.
12..Cesium
13..They're old ;^) Like me.

On edit: Well, no. It actually does rhyme with idiom. That mean it's wrong?

1..I would have thought some of you ancients would recall the Norman Luboff Choir from the 50's/60's.

2..A Leonard Cohen composition turned into a hit by Roberta Flack, so IDed by K9
with additional lyrics by zorro.

3..Best detail, with implications, by JR.

4..Married folks second-honeymooning in space.

5..TUSK is the album and the PM's name.

6..Lots of you with McHenry.

7..Night Moves

8..Rbny starts a 4some with Roy Dolby.

9..Zocalo, so write Ed4, geordi, zorro.

10..See JR for good detail; 4 others mention the flooding.

11.."Poor Fishes" indeed. K9 points to killer molasses.

13..Getting Kennedy Center Honors...maybe JR will qualify next year on age alone.
Only geordi cites this (no, not the JR part).

Now, off to get my aerobics in through table tennis.

2..A Leonard Cohen composition

Nope. LC wrote some fantastic songs, (Suzanne, That's No Way to Say Goodbye, Sisters of Mercy, et al),but this was not one of them. Ewan McCall.[/quote]

OH, all right. it DOES rhyme--tritium

Now, I didn't know the answer so I can't claim to have been misled. But I am Chief Didacticist so I must point out that tritium is an isotope (of hydrogen), not an element.

Perhaps others would have retrieved it from storage with that distinction.

One chief correcting another? What will the enlisted troops think of that?

Another tidbit that's been taking up space in my brain, apparently fruitlessly.
