8. I have to answer this one. I live in the NYC apartment where Fred Gwynne and his wife lived in the 1980s. It has 12-foot ceilings, which are especially appropriate for a man as tall as Fred. I never met him, but long-time residents of the building say he was a wonderful person - friendly and down to earth.
Anyway, the answer is Joe E. Ross.
