7. I think it was Lincoln. I believe the North confiscated Arlington from a Southern family during the Civil War and started burying soldiers there.

My father was a ground mechanic on B-17 Flying Fortress's based in Knettishall, England, '43 - '45. Growing up, we had 3 airplane models hanging from the basement ceiling - B-17, B-24 Liberator, and B-29 Superfortress. I had forgotten that the Superforts got into service in the Pacific Theatre until WC's question, however.

Yup. The Lib and the Superfort had longer range than the '17, which made them very useful in the PTO. The whole point, I think, of taking Iwo Jima was to set up a base for Superfort operations over Japan..like the Enola Gay.
