1..Meyers deserves some recognition for knowing that Jackie came from the KC Monarchs, but that response is obvious and localized. See rbny's more sweeping result.

2..Geordi, rbny and Knights select residents of Glasgow.

3..Well, superman can't qualify, being faster. It's radio waves.

4..Pinot, you caused me to look this up. Wiki says he was the 2nd. Anyway,
you plus 3 mention Frank.

5..VAUC, Knights & geordi specify The League of Nations.

6..I've long suspected that Mrs. Meyers, sadly, "married down". Now we learn that she has the refined sensibility for voice, unlike hubby who prefers noise. I can hear her lament over
the wireless, "I should have wed rbny".

7..The dwarf Mexican petunia is ruellia. Close to rubella? A stretch?

8..Meyers is most exact with 1900's (1902).

9..Crown rightly offers Mariel.

10..VAUC alone with Duryea.

11..Meyers with Richie Havens (RIP).

12..Rbny is part of a quartet, highlighting a suspect being grandstanded for onlookers.

13..Good choice, geordi, although South Tyrol did once belong to Austria.

Part B will be delayed while I woof down my brunch.

I don't know. I bet they were originally pretty happy the Monarchs had lost their best player. And many of them were probably happy he had broken the barrier, because quite a few of them got there shot in MLB.

You have no idea how far "down".

It's not I prefer noise, I just prefer music with a soul/groove/strength as compared to wussy music. Also it's not that I don't think he has a very nice voice, he does. However not unique or interesting. But his fault is he sings wussy music.

(Although I did enjoy Groban in Chess. Not as much as Pascal or Menzel of course.)

But a larger number of the Negro Leaguers would lose their audience. You must take the long view here.

And, hey, my dad called it noise
