I'd like to tell you that we have signed someone from 2013, but I can't. I offer this instead.
Remember there is no research nor reprinting questions allowed.

1..A city in ?.. has deputized retirees to hand out tickets for minor infractions, and they are
reportedly out of control.

2..This nation files murder charges (then rescinds them for now) against striking miners
whose cohorts were killed by cops.

3.."I built my house from barley rice."

4..Prez Sarkozy began an extradition program vs...? and it continues.

5..Our Prez' first name is also a Hebrew word meaning..?

6..A mouse-borne virus causes a shutdown in cabins in which Nat'l Park?

7..The only Nat'l Service Academy that is not part of the military?

8..She(?) is leaving a morning TV show for bone marrow treatment.

9..Who were the Denirovans?

10..Give me one example where you DON'T want to "get 'em while their hot".

11.."My yesterdays were blue, dear; today I'm part of you, dear."

12..This fall HBO will air a doc called Crossfire Hurricane about this rock group.

13..Schindler's List chief actor?

6. Yosemite
7. Coast Guard Academy?
13. Liam Neesom ?

3. Into White - Cat Stevens

7. US Merchant Marine Academy???

8. Robin Roberts

13. Liam Neeson

2. South Africa using an old apartheid era law.
5. Lightning
6. Hantavirus
7. Mercahnt Marine
8. Robin Roberts
11. What A Difference A Day Makes - Esther Phillips
13. Laim Neeson

9..Who were the Denirovans? (Actually, Denisovans)Extinct cousins of ourselves and the Neanderthals, consisting of the terminal joint of a pinkie, and two teeth.

1. I hope it isn't Arizona - we have enough wackiness to go around. Our governor can't talk without a script and we have a "Flake" running for senate. Most of the state doesn't seem to understand what being part of the "United" States means. So I could see it happening, except I haven't heard of it, so hopefully not.

8. Robin Roberts. :(
12.I imagine Rolling Stones....from Jumpin' Jack Flash.
13. Liam Neeson.

1..China (which is always a good guess, with their 1B people, somebody is always doing weird stuff).

2..VAUC has it with South Africa. Cops kill miners; the surviving striking miners are blamed.

3..Happily Chap, unlike poor Charlie on the MTA, has apparently successfully exited I-95 to provide the Cat Stevens tune.

4..The Roma (or gypsies), thrown back into Romania & Bulgaria.

5..VAUC has "lightning".

6..Pinot & the 2 V's with Yosemite. Many sick; a few dead.

7..Chap leads 4 with the Merchant Marine Academy. From what I read it may become extinct.

8..Meyers +3 with Robin Roberts. Some are sad.

9..Zorro was right that my "r" should be an "S". See him. A Siberian people share some DNA with originals in New Guinea & Australia.

10..VTC gives it a whirl with stolen TV. What inspired this question was waiting several minutes before emptying the clothes dryer.

11..Husky & VAUC with What a Difference a Day Makes. I associate the song with Dinah Washington. Maybe VAUC will
explain his choice of Esther Phillips.

12..Yup, gotta be the Rolling Stones--pap & Meyers

13..Pinot leads a quintet with Liam Neeson.

You are 11/13 here.

2. The same law exists in the US, at least in some states. If someone is killed during the commision of a crime, even if the killing is done by police officers, the perpetrators of that crime may be charged with murder.

Attacking police with machetes might be considered a criminal act.
