1. capo di tutti capi
3. Flew his plane the wrong way. Meant to fly to the west coast from New York, and ended up in Europe.
7. Colorado -- where else these days...
10. Bob Dylan

5. The Kaaba
8. Cherokee - the language was used as an unbreakable radio code
12. Bulgaria

8. Navaho "code talkers". During WWII, code-breaking was a big deal - our breaking the Japanese Naval code led to our sucess at Midway, and the British breaking the German Enigma code was crucial. Part of the problem with any transmission in code, at the time, was how long it took to decipher - even if it was your own message! In the Pacific theater, American Navaho Indians were placed in key units, and messages were sent in native Navaho. Translation was very fast, and the Japanese never could figure it out, as far as I know.

7. I would guess, but I have found out that is frowned upon. Or at least used as an antidote at certain people's dinner parties.
8. Navaho. Code talkers. They made a movie about it. The great Nicholas Cage starred (although not as a Navaho).
9. Well there is a Robin (Robyn) ??Quivers?? who works with Howard Stern. Not sure how she spells her name??

1. di tutti - the boss of all bosses
2. 1820S ?? - after the Creek Wars
3. he flew the opposite direction of his destination -- I think we was going to NY and flying west or something
7. Colorado
8. The Navajo - the US Army used them as 'code talkers' because the Navajo language was never documented and thus unbreakable
11. Discovery

3. Corrigan flew in the opposite direction of his filed flight plan.
5. Ramadan
8. Navahoe code talkers - not as unbreakable a code as some believe. However, the fact that it was a real time code used for voice communication made it very effective.
11. Discovery

1. de tutti
2. 1690's.
3. Flew his plane in the wrong direction. Ended up in Europe. As one thinks about it, even with ancient technology, one has to realize that they are going in the wrong direction when flying an extended period of time over water. In any case, he was fortunate to land safely.
4. Backus
5. Ramadan
6. Johnson
8. they were code talkers. Speaking their Native Navajo language, it was impossible for anyone but them to translate.
10. Charlie Chaplin
11. Discovery

4..When we think of this Alan, we have a project.

6..Ford? Johnson? Too recent(unless you mean Andrew, then not too recent).

6. How many guesses is one allowed? One figures that as few as 38 guesses has a 100% chance of landing the right one.

13.."My love for you grows deeper with every passing day. ____ ___ ___ __ ____."

1..K9 & geordi have the spelling, di tutti. Geordi with the translation also.

2..Ed4 & geordi helpful; it is 1821.

3..Several of you capture the problematic flight plan; K9 is most exact, writing that Corrigan intended our west coast, but wound up in Europe.

4..VAUC rightly (post hint) provides "Parsons", as in The Alan Parsons project. Jim Parsons is our favorite Big Bang geek.

5..Ramadan is timely right now, the month long fasting is upon us. Our 2 "V"s

6..Good ol' Harry S.

7..Like K9 suggests, where else do you have a bunch of authorities running around with lizard-capturing devices, only to be distracted by a theater massacre?

8..Pinot, with the best detail, leads 6 with the Navajo Code- talkers.

9..Go with meyers who provides Robyn Quivers, sidekick to the Rutgers blasphemer.

10..Charlie Chaplin had a MODERN TIMES flic, but for both titles, you need Dylan, as K9 knew.

11..Rbny fronts 5 who list Discovery.

12..Something only Frank knows, Bulgaria.

13..Till the End of Time, a classic recorded by several, including Della Reese.

9. minor correction, WC. Robyn was Howard Stern's side-kick. While Howard has much to answer for, the Rutgers comments we uttered by the I-man, John Donald Imus.

Oh yeah.

Another minor correction. Corrigan's flight to Europe was deliberate. Geez, I learned that in Grade school. However, if you don't believe me it's on Wikipedia so it must be true.

I read it on the internet. They can't put anything on the internet unless it's true. ( I know that because I read it on the internet.) ;)
