14. As an aside, the answers to 14 are correct but the dog was never meant to "come down". It was placed in a satellite and the Russians had no capability (at that point) to re-enter and recover satellites. There is some debate over exactly how long (and for how many orbits) the dog survived.

I think the unnecessary character count limit includes formatting as well. It should not. Nor should it include the text to which anyone is replying.
