Anyone else feeling uneasy over the future of the franchise in CT? With the growth of the league, controversy of facilities, and Stephanie White's departure it looks like many outsiders are in favor of relocation to Boston or Philly

I feel like the Sun do well in Uncasville and them leaving would be a disservice to CT and WBB as a whole. What do you all think will happen?

It looks like their window for contention has shut. And I think the reception they received Boston open a lot of eyes. I could see them moving to Boston. The Sun started comping me tickets the last few years and I am nothing close to a high roller. I read a good point. The Sun has been able to compete because other ownership groups didn't take their teams seriously. Now that they all trying, I can see the Sun falling back. Players hate travelling there. If I had to predict, I'd say they're gone sooner rather than later.

I wish the tribe would let them play a few games in Hartford, capitalize off the UConn fever

Unfortunately I think they’ll be in Boston within a few years.

Don't follow the WNBA in the least but players "hate travelling" there because of the casino or CT in general or....? Just trying to understand it all.

I feel like it would be weird for the tribe to spend all this time and money investing into the franchise just to sell them as soon as the league starts growing

.-.
I think if the league blows up in a few years and the Sun are long gone most CT residents will be singing a different tune
"most CT residents"

I'm not sure that the league is going to "blow up".

This past season had it's highest revenue ever yet it still needed $40 million from the NBA to cover the financial shortfall. Word on the street is most NBA owners are ready to pull the plug on underwriting the WNBA and the players are planning on opting out of the current labor agreement in November, believing they can demand significant increases in salaries and perks.

That in itself may be enough for the NBA to tell the WNBA you're on your own. Be self sufficient or fold.

It's that it's in the sticks, a good haul from an airport.
