How is it bad? On an individual level, Marshall's hiring and new role certainly suggests personal positives. Good luck to the guy.

I would say it is good for Bruce Marshall.

It's good for him to get back in the game. He went through some rough times over the past few years, IIRC he ended up seeking treatment for (alcohol?) abuse and had some family issues. Good to see him making a recovery and getting his life back on track.

Good for Bruce. He basically held the program together for a couple of decades. When he was on even terms his teams were good. Go back and look at his D3 record. With 0 scholarships he had some competitive teams that lacked that 1 guy they needed to get over the hump.
