For those of you who don't follow football closely, we are seeing a whole new kind of football recruiting going on at UCONN.

Until they take the field and play, it's hard to be certain, but what is not in question is that Diaco and company are much, much better closers than Edsall or PP.

When this staff wants someone - they get him. High character guys who are actively going out and helping the staff close with other recruits.

The ball is rolling.

We have 5 commits in the last week or so, including the top QB the staff targeted. All the recruits are tall and have big frames.

Our new strength and conditioning coach/program is already having a huge impact on the players already on the team. QB's are looking like LBs and words like chiseled, muscular etc are being used by anyone who has come in contact with the players.

Big changes in just 6 months or so.

Add that to big framed recruits and UCONN is going to flat our push around the teams that were pushing us around under PP.

Exciting times at the Rent are coming.

NOW is the time to get on the bandwagon - its more fun being part of the whole climb than just the last few meters.

Interesting to note. Thanks. Pretty much the single greatest key to getting us into a new conference. Go HCBD.

Hopefully that strength and conditioning coach gets ahold of our bigs.

Keep us posted. I agree, we need football doing well. I am not from Ct. So have no knowledge of fb but the better they are, the better for us!

Thanks for the heads up!

This is great stuff and a terrific summary of what's going on over at the Football board. I'm psyched beyond belief to think that maybe we start moving towards an above average football program with consistent appearances in the top 25. As Intlz pointed out, FB is the single most important factor in getting us into a new conference.

This ain't the football forum bro
Go Team!

He knows that - what I guess you don't know is FB drives Conference Realignment.

If you are happy with our conference affiliation as it stands now in the AAC - move along and ignore.

If you are hoping for a BIG 10 invite take his OT post as a positive towards that goal and continue to support all UConn.

Good day.

OT - means its off topic. I do that so people don't get confused and write "This ain't the football forum bro".

But, I guess some people are always going to get confused.

Sigh.

Huh???

You have to be HFD.
No way I actually understand what this guy is saying.

Modern free verse.
Translation win in the AAC , and play any notable named team regardless of the distance. Build our rep.

Good to hear. Thanks. I will say that the new ad I've just seen a few times tonight on SNY (yes, I am a Mets fan, unfortunately) was pretty impressive. Diaco talks like he intends to deliver a much better product and I expect that he will.
