Federer is playing very well right now, certainly well enough to have a good shot at defeating Djokovic. Quietly, he's creeping closer to Rafa in the race for #2, which could be a big deal. If Federer passes Nadal for #2 before the French, then there's a 50% chance Nadal ends up in Djokovic's half of the draw, meaning Federer might be able to avoid Nadal. That would give Roger his best chance to win a major.
