Our guys have had some notable remarks throughout the years. Here are some of my favorites:

"There are very few people who understand Stanley, and I'm not one of them." - Jeff Adrien

"Staring at juice until I fall asleep." - Donnell Beverly, via Twitter

"They're going to leave the Big East with a bad taste of UConn in their mouths." - Ryan Boatright

Pretty much everything Shabazz Napier said.

Kemba tweeted or instagrammed a pic of boatright and said something like "I told you little bro, its all about the chin hairs", made me crack up

I really enjoyed in just about every interview during the tournament, Shabazz would find a time to say "we've been in dawg fights all year long" and he'd really say dog like that. Nothing else he said had any sort of accent, but dogfights was always "dawgfights", so that kept making me laugh

and then just about every line from the I think NBC CT interview with J Lamb and Roscoe during the final four in 2011, "can you smell it? yeah I could smell it" "No he never makes me laugh.... but right now he's actin real funny"

I forget who they played but I remember when Lyman DePriest played great off the bench to lead the team to victory after not seeing much action in the previous games. He said, "I knew Coach would get back to me."

I think the Caron quote went like this -" we're not Chicken dinners, we're winners".
And "They're going to leave the Big East with a bad taste of UConn in their mouths." - Ryan Boatright

When KFree said, after the Syracuse loss in '99 (which Rip and Jake missed due to injuries), something to the effect of: "They had their way with us, like we were girls."

My favorite quote isn't FROM a Husky, it's about the Huskies. Ron Artest, post game, into his cell phone... "They punked us, man."

That's a good one. I think the actual line was "they pimped us, yo".

"When I saw the clock, I thought there were two or three seconds left," Smith said. "My team -- man, they got on me in the locker room. I glanced at [the clock] and threw it up there. I just saw the clock going real fast." - Roscoe Smith

"It's the dumbest [bleeping] question I've ever heard. I've explained it 1,000 times. I [fouled] up. I didn't take Ryan Gomes. Does that make you happy? almighty. ... It took 18 months to sell the kid to Providence. It's been written about. It's been talked about. Don't shake your [bleeping] head. You asked a question. I'm telling you how I feel about it. I took Emeka Okafor and Caron Butler. They're not bad. I can't take every player. We have 13 scholarships. ... And if you want me to say I [fouled] up, I [fouled] up. Write it. ... You want me to say I [fouled] up? For the fifth time, I [fouled] up. So put it five times."

I love Jimmy.

Shabazz Napier. And the best thing about it is he took a huge swipe at the NCAA, immediately following the huge NCAA championship win, on national TV in front of millions.

"I want to get everybody's attention, right quick. If I don't have your attention, let me get your attention. Ladies and gentlemen, you're looking at the Hungry Huskies. This is what happens when you ban us last year... 2 years... we worked so hard for it. 2 years and hungry. Hungry Huskies!!!"

He went on to clarify later...

"Like I said, man, I just wanted to grab everybody's attention and introduce the Hungry Huskies, because it's been two years," Napier told reporters. "It's quite funny because I was laying down (the previous night) and I was thinking of something to say, because I knew we were going to win. I'm being real humble and not trying to be cocky, when you believe something so much, you understand what may happen in certain situations. I told myself, if I was on that podium I was going to say that."

Seriously just love everything about that guy!

2010 interview of Kemba after winning the Maui invitational (2010-2011 season) He said "We wanted to show the world we're still UConn."

I can't find Kemba's exact words, but that was close. (remember how poorly the 2009-2010 season ended). Did find this article (looking for the exact quote). Sums up my feelings perfectly!

oops. forgot the link

This sweat that you see, wasn't the game. The sweat is from me hugging every single one of those kids. And quite frankly, deserved more than a hug from me. They deserve a hug from the state of Connecticut, they deserve a hug from the University, and our fans.

-Jim Calhoun 2008 vs. Indiana.

He has a subtle, but detectable Boston accent. There are just some words that bring it out more than others.

Example: My fiancee is originally from upstate New York, but you can't tell most of the time. However, when she says certain words, like "challenge", her accent is really noticeable. I hope she doesn't read this, because she gets pissed off whenever I point it out. :)
