It's great to be reminded of others I could have listed--Monty Python, Person of Interest, Cheers, Life is Worth Living (my avatar),
Veronica Mars.
Also Foyle's War deservers accolades. I seem to be alone with JAG and House.

Oh, I very much agree on House. Fantastic show. Of course, that reminds me of Laurie's earlier Jeeves and Wooster. He and Stephen Fry were absolutely perfect in that gem.

The Green Hornet
The Big Valley
The West Wing
The Wire
Game of Thrones
The Americans

NCIS is still on the air for the fall season. Long live Gibbs!
I am working on getting the entire DVD collection. I have seasons 1-7 now.
Just need the rest. I have Batman and Stars Trek complete collections.

C'mon! Game Of Thrones is the best current show, not past. You're spoiling a different thread. I'm taking away your gold star. GOT deals with the same political currents and the quest for power as The West Wing except you get to set how brutal the results on both common people, the upper crust and those involved.

Latest addictions:

Narcos
Better Call Saul (with a tip of the hat to Breaking Bad)
Preacher

Northern Exposure
My Name is Earl
Malcolm in the Middle
Seinfeld
Six Feet Under

The Apotheosis of Western Ideals

-- otherwise known as "The Gong Show" :p

I listed The Gong Show early in this thread. It was a hilarious talent (or, more often, lack of) show hosted by a free spirit named Chuck Barris, circa 1970's. The consummate exposition of bad taste. And yes, I still miss it.

This goofy show has had dozens of imitators in the intervening years, but -- alas! -- no GONG to curtail the acts.;)

Oops, you sure did ! My eye was traveling too quickly over the posts....

Looking back now, the show appears even more odd than it did at the time to my 10-14 year-old eyes. Not that the various risqué elements went completely unnoticed...!

I have not seen anything since that could match TGS's quirky and utterly irreverent sensibility. There was something about the 1970s that made shows like that possible.

A footnote about the late but not lamented Gong Show. Among the celebrity judges was a young fellow with a mod Beatles-like hair style -- David Letterman!

I missed Justified first run. I can't believe a show that great didn't get more notice.
Foyle's War
Veronica Mars

The Ed Sullivan Show
The Shield
House of Cards

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Lost
Friends
Gilmore Girls
Veronica Mars

Mama (I Remember)
Captain Video
Seinfeld
The Norm Show (Norm)
Mike and Molly

Lots of great shows - current and old. Gotta add one - Rizzoli and Isles. Angie Harmon plays Jane Rizzoli - a Boston PD Detective. The chemistry between the entire cast is amazing and it's just so well done. Really an enjoyable show. Wasn't a huge Harmon fan before the show, but she's just terrific.

While we await the next season, and while I await a crew to do some home installation,
I name 3 former shows that to me were can't-miss-a-single-episode quality.

JAG
The West Wing
House

Got 3 defunct ones you'd care to list?
That 70's Show
Seinfeld
Evertbody Loves Raymond
