I know four people who work there that I hope aren't effected.

Weren't the $$$$ the State gave them supposed to 1) create 200 jobs in Ct? Were there any other reasons? They sure as heck buried UCONN.

I think it's been fairly clear for awhile that ESPN has been angling to move jobs elsewhere. They have been moving jobs to NYC and LA for awhile now.

I spoke with Seth Greenberg for a bit on Friday. My friend asked him if he worked exclusively out of Bristol or if he got to work in L.A from time to time? He said "I wish" with regard to LA. Going back to the Olbermann days and I'm sure well before that, employees have been clamoring to work somewhere more exciting than Bristol, CT. I also wish anyone here who works for them the best of luck with this.

I read somewhere that NBCSports net is looking to expand. Perhaps some of those who were laid off can take their talents to Stamford. Also with the new Fox Sports network starting, some of these people may not be out of work very long.

The article I read is that they moved jobs OUT of NYC and moved them TO Bristol. A lot of NYC "talent" was shuttled to Conn. as the offices closed. Furthermore, part of the slashing was a wholesale closure of out of state offices. Denver office was shut down completely.

I think it's more likely 'The Mouse' consolidating operations.
