OT-Emergency Mode on an iPhone

I just learned about Emergency Mode on an iPhone. If you go to the health app and touch the Medical Id icon in the bottom right corner, you can enter your emergency information like drug or food allergies and emergency contact information. This information can be accessed by anyone (think EMT's or lost phone) even if your phone is passcode protected (who doesn't passcode protect their phone?) by swiping right on the lock screen and then touching the word "emergency" in the bottom left corner. It even allows calls to your emergency contacts.

Thanks for taking the time to bring this to people's attention. If you are for instance a Type 1 insulin dependent diabetic (juvenile diabetes) this emergency feature could save your life if you go hypoglycemic and someone can help provide the carb boost you need to raise your blood glucose level. The Medical ID is a great feature. This is a great OT post. Thanks to the moderators and the community for posting this type of info.
