Great news for Houston. I never saw him as gelling in LA, and since I can't stand the Lakers, anything that causes them problems is OK by me. I'm just glad he didn't go to the G.D. Heat (yeah, I know they weren't in the running but... can't stand them either...'cept for Ray).

How can you not like Bosh? Basketball completely aside, he's one of the most unintentionally entertaining guys in the league.

Totally agree. Bosh is very entertaining and the least "unlikable" of the Big 3. Still, I just can't stand Miami. Never liked the city, their MCBB team, their CFB team, and wish they didn't win the last 2 NBA championships. But strong dislike of teams isn't always based on logic!!

Forgot about them. But don't dislike them nearly as much as the other teams I listed. Not sure why... Maybe because I used to be a big Csonka fan back in the day...
 
There are tons of reports out there about this, but has Howard actually said anything yet? The kid is nutty and nothing would surprise me, even a return to LA at this late juncture. At any rate, that is now two teams he has forced his way out of, and has run this free agency thing like a circus. How is this guy not criticized in the way LeBron James was? Just to be clear, I am not calling for it to happen, but I do wonder why it isn't the case.
 
As an actual Rockets fan (long story) I'm pretty mixed on this move. I know purely from a talent standpoint this makes sense since Houston needs a move like this to really get into the upper echelon. The more I read about his Antonio Cromartie-like trail of illegitimate kids combined with his overall lack of maturity is a huge concern though. Rumor is Rockets trying to trade for Josh Smith too to form a really solid big 3.

you've been in a coma? Dwight's rep went down the toilet during the whole opt in/opt out fiasco and SVG backstabbing and hasn't recovered since. Not sure where you've been to not notice him getting killed in the media. I'm not really a fan of him of him but most athletes would've got a pass for not looking the same after back surgery, meanwhile he got destroyed and he still was one of the better Cs(not saying much, but still...). If he still had his media pass intact he wouldn't have taken that criticism last year.
 
ESPN is now reporting that Dwight changed his mind and is now 50-50 between Houston and the Lakers... Howard is seriously like a 14 year old girl with his decision making.
 
Wow, what a drama queen. Two years in a row with this same crap.

My guess is all of Dwight's baby mothers(I believe he's at 5 now) called him and told him he better take that extra $30M

Probably for the reason you mentioned, he seems nutz. Lebron just comes off as an egotistical balloon knot who's been given the mantle of "The King" his entire life and that's all he knows.

Someone else said it in this thread. Dwight is a 6 year old girl. Lebron's a grade A .

And Dwight does take his fair share of flack. Much more so on the playing side than Lebron, for good reason.

Eh, in this day and age, he's a celebrity. They are fodder for our entertainment, personal lives and all. In Russell's day, then absolutely not.

Ehhh, to me it just doesn't speak well about his character when he's got at least 6 illegitimate kids by 5 or more women. As pointed out, he's supposedly such a strong Christian who apparently doesn't practice what he preaches. If you're sinking 21 mill a year into someone for 5 years, it would be nice to have them exhibit a little responsibility off the court.

If they could sling Lin and some of their assets for a real PG, then they are a contender. Random PG, Harden, Parsons, Josh Smith, and D12 has potential.

Because how someone acts in their personal life may reflect their character? Kind of funny how when he came into the league he wanted to add a cross to the Jerry West logo and he has 5 baby mommas. Woops. Have these guys never heard of pulling out?

I needed some relief. I am currently having a fruitless argument with someone on the women's board that the ACC is more of a power conference than the AAC. I mean that's self evident no? I'm not nuts?

Also, an associated claim is that any ACC team who came to the AAC would be taking a step up in basketball. (sigh)

It's kind of funny that world class athletes who have tremendous discipline to train and be ridiculously conditioned seem to have such little discipline when it comes to birth control. Nobody likes condoms but when one can save you millions of dollars they seem much cooler if you ask me.
