Legendary bluegrass artist Doc Watson [blind since he was 2] passed away at 89. About 45 years ago I saw him in concert...just fabulous.

Love his music, which will always be with us. His voice is so unique and comes straight out of American roots. He lost his son at am early age as I recall, but not before they made some great music together.

RIP, Doc.

Doc Watson was one of the greats of bluegrass. And here's one stanza of one of my favorite Doc Watson songs (written by Jimmy Driftwood):
The Tennessee stud was long and lean The color of the sun and his eyes were green He had the nerve and he had the blood And there never was a hoss like the Tennessee stud

He will be missed!
