He has gone on to the great bandstand in the sky.

My childhood was spent watching American Bandstand on Saturdays.

Rest in peace, Mr. Clark.

WHAT THE HECK! I didn't type RICHARD? Why did this auto correct to Richard? OH...is it because of the short form of Richard?

I don't suppose the mods can override that?

Wow - sad news.

He will be remembered as someone who brought a LOT of music and a LOT of popular artists to a LOT of young (and not so young) people in America and across the world.

God Bless and Rest in Peace on that big Bandstand in the sky

As difficult as it seemed for him, I watched the ball drop in Times Square on TV and listened to him count down to 2012. An icon for me growing up

Welcome to the club. No, you did not type Richard, but that is what will come out when you try to post the word "."

Popular? Yes
Original? Far from it
Successful business person? Yes

I resented the fact that Mr. Clark made a living capitalizing on his lack of creativity. Just take a successful concept, retool it a bit, and make millions. He was never in the forefront, never a visionary. Mostly, he was a reactionary, albeit quite successful.

More sad news today ... dancing in my living room during American Bandstand is one of my fondest childhood memories.

You'll be missed, ....

OMG, the fountain of youth has died.

I can't believe that the letters D-I-C-K get screened out.

Well, here's a creature who would get doubly censored:

He was a good Master of Ceremonies...he never presented himself otherwise. This was his wisdom…see the landscape of life, cross it, use it.

Looks more and more like the Mayans were right. No way we can do New Years Eve without Dick Clark. RIP

Where would we be as a nation without The DeFranco Family?
