Trinity (Conn.) won in 2OT against Endicott, 2-1, to be one of the 4 schools to punch a ticket to the D3 version of the "Frozen Four". Semifinals and final in Utica on Friday and Saturday.

The other 3 are Norwich, Adrian and St Norbert.

Trinity, somehow the second oldest college in Connecticut, defeated St Norbert College, 3-2, in a hard fought battle with the game winning goal scored early in the third period at beautiful Utica Auditorium. (Cool building.)

Norwich, #1 ranked team overall and oldest private military academy in the US, takes on Adrian College in 60 minutes for the other spot in the championship game.

Trinity actually scored the game winner late in the second.

Adrian College tied the game with 2 goals late in the third to send the game into OT. Norwich scored the winner halfway through.

Trinity vs Norwich tomorrow for the title.

Norwich scored early in the second, then Trinity ties it a few minutes later. 1-1 tie in the middle of the second.

Norwich used their elite speed on a turnover by Trinity and scored on a breakaway. 2-1, Norwich.

Come on Bantams! Love Trinity athletics (my daughter is an alum).

Trinity goalie mishandled the puck, trying to clear the zone, Norwich player got the puck and was able to get it past the goalie as the goalie tried to recover. 3-1, Norwich. 12 minutes left in the 3rd.

If Norwich wins, they won because of speed and stick-handling the errors of opponents. Unreal. Norwich recruits undersized speedsters.

Trinity hits the goal post with 4 minutes left. Norwich penalty. 3.5 minutes left.

Norwich scored an empty netter with 30 seconds left. Norwich Cadets won the national championship, 4-1. Great D3 Frozen Four. Too bad Trinity lost. They had chances but could not capitalize.

They award runner-ups trophies now, including trophies for players.

You know how Trinity is somehow the second oldest college in Connecticut? Because when it was formed, there was only one other college.

Sheesh.

I was just surprised. New York has at least two schools that were created after the Revolutionary War in upstate NY (Union and Hamilton) before 1800. Kinda amusing Wesleyan enjoys a higher stature, regardless. :D

Where were you at the Frozen Four?!
