How does UCONN Storrs compare with Southern, Central, Western, and Eastern CT Universities in academics?

Is there any consensus? Are there any numbers available?

Most important: Is it tougher to get into Storrs as a freshman than into these others ?

I've got to admit it's getting better
A little better all the time

UConn is considered a much better school than the other state schools and is definitely tougher to get into as well.

UConn also has highly respected professional schools: law, medicine, and business (admittedly not in Storrs, but still).

All in all, UConn isn't Yale, but I'd be perfectly content if that's where either or both of my children ended up for their undergraduate studies.
