Not sure how many of these things are sold in Connecticut every day but I was pretty fired up when I noticed it today. Wish they would have added this year's Football schedule and a ticket phone number though.

- red looks pink with the dunkin plastic as a background.
- the wolf looks Asian
- did u see warde there or did he leave already for the NCAA meeting?

Word from people in FF County is they're not on the cups down there but you gotta figure there are 100s of 100,000s of those things seen a day. Not just from people drinking them but from other people in the office/school, etc. Pretty good marketing--especially getting visibility for the new logo.

I live in Fairfield County. I don't get coffee from DD everyday but don't remember seeing this before. I actually bought this today on Rte 34 near Oxford/Derby. I didn't notice the UCONN logo until I was halfway done with the thing.

what are you talking about? we have had the dunkin sponsorship deal for years now. all that is different is the new logo. google dunkin donuts uconn cup images. the first hit is the old cup pre warde.

YOUR THAT MOTHER FRUCKING DESPERATE TO GIVE YOUR BOY WARDE A POINT THAT YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT!!!

grow a sack and admit the guy has no clue what hes doing

lurker got the sarcasm in my post. i don't like the logo. so i made a joke. the warde crony in you immediately had to defend him.

ppl here complain about me going off the cliff. well i went off because this jerk has drove uconn off the cliff. thats why all the good posters lurk now. nothing to talk about thats positive...thats not my fault. im not in charge of uconns product. warde is.

thats your comeback?

so you were wrong and then you try to take a shot at me because i refuse to buy tickets this year? bravo for looking like a .

i used to buy tickets, when the product was worth it. your try at a ego shot does nothing. its a joke. i will mail you a dunkin cup for free. pm me your address. but im going to step on it first so that you understand what the fans and locals up here have felling wise about uconn right now.....

lastly i dont need a handout. not sure where you get off thinking i do. im not on here begging for extra tickets. i can afford tickets. i chose right now not to buy. im not sure where u get that feeling but noise.

Do you know how many cups of coffee Dunkin donuts sells each day. What coffee place has grown and taken buisiness back from Starbucks. Warde made sure our logo is out there in due time for football season and you prefer to take shots at him. Maybe you don't agree with what warde says but there isn't anything wrong with this. Furthermore if this deal was in place already than you already contradict yourself if te d nd deal was in place before warde even got the job

Stick to recruiting and put your old avatar back. Stop criticizing on warde like he knocked up your mom. Give to the athletic department if you want it to grow.

you are missing it.

i like the dunkin sponsorship. its a great thing. its been in place for years. it doesn't get to be put on wardes resume. it was already here. i was simply taking a knock at the logo...

I've never worked in a D-1 athletic dept but my guess would be it's not the athletic director who works on getting logos on cups.

I live in Manchester and work at UTC in Windor Locks. I have one sitting at my desk (it's my new water cup) and you see them all around the office. It's amazing advertising!

Maybe not but this is the guy who does and Warde is his boss.

(Just to be clear, I love the cups. Davey Boy! You old sailor you!)

Yeah my point was plastic cup logos are beneath the AD.

As for Dave are they still using his picture from his first day? He's pushing 60 on his bio, that guy doesn't look 60.

He'll be charged up being a Boneyard topic tomorrow.

Do you do anything but bitch and moan? I don't particularly like PP or WM but I'm a UConn fan-if you are a fan of the school/program regardless of how you feel about the coach or AD you should support the program regardless. I get you don't like the rebranding and that's your opinion, I actually like the rebranding (with the exception of the helmets but ill have to wait and see it in person before finalizing my opinion). I don't mind people giving their opinions cause it's your right, but if all you're gonna do is bitch and moan about every little thing why bother posting. You rarely bring anything constructive to the board, it almost seens like you're posting just to piss people off - anything the university does is wrong/bad. If the cup said UConn it would be to plain, if it said Huskies you'd complain there's not enough University recognition.

Regardless of the quality of the printing on the cup. It is great to be on there. It is another powerful way that UConn (athletics in particular) have entwined themselves into the culture of the state. I think this is very smart marketing.

i took a shot at the logo as a funny jab(because i complain about it all the time). the dunkin sponsorship is great. we all know it is. its been around for years. stop acting like its some new thing. they put the new logo on cups. THATS WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO WHEN YOU CHANGE LOGOS. YOU UPDATE THINGS. what the frack is so hard about this thread i don't know but this board is full of tards. next thing i know some 1 here is going to tell me warde works all night in the back of a dunkin personally painting each logo on to cups to try to defend him. all of you need to fall back and observe how silly you all look. take off the uconn glasses for one minute and think about whats going on. im not asking you to bring a gun to campus or wear a cuse shirt, just take off the uconn glasses and emotional attachment you have for one minute and observe how silly things are today. chesus.....

where should i start? how about somewhere in the terms of marketing to the future of the fanbase is usually best done by 60 years olds targeting 15 year olds. good place to start? wait he used to work in radio? ok good, name him head of marketing...

nonono warde personally paints each cup. ppl here give him 1 point towards a thumbs up each cup.

the old logo was better - but so was the old BE. Hopefully Nike knows better than me.

When it comes to branding a product and product logos, that's a safe assumption.

Individuals are under no obligation to be fans of certain institutions if they disapprove of how the organization is being run.

This is not directed at anyone in particular, merely a general statement.

Even though I like this logo better, I'm still happy about the fact that we continue to advertise our brand and get our name out there. I like the continued collaboration with DD, where you are guaranteed to get our name out to a lot of people that may not even follow college sports. That's the best type of publicity; one which generates new fans and not just making existing ones like me happy...

yup i agree. thats why i find this thread hilarious. i wasn't popooing the sponsorship in any way. its great. but and this is the down right center of it, warde fans are so backed up because the guy has done nothing that they are trying to fabricate things to chalk up points for him like this thread. all it does is prove the insane uconn glasses here.

uconn logos no matter the logo are great to have on dunkin cups. i may not like the logo but the actual substance is great. hell i want them on metro tickets or something train wise into the city. i want them on duchess cups and mcdonalds wrappers and so on. i want them on the plates in front of carts at stop and shop for gods sake.....

Nike has 8000 toddlers in a sweatshop somewhere making crap with our logo on it.

Enough with the logo, already. First, WM and SH didn't retire to a vacuumed jar so they could pick a logo free of any interruption or input. My guess is 'n thing and other similar things were subject to an evaluation process that included some number of focus groups and other related studies. More importantly? It really doesn't matter whether Dan or I or anyone else loves, hates or is neutral toward the damn thing.

The only thing that's important is that it's not outlandish (it's not an elephant, monkey, snake, ballerina, etc.), it is relevant and identifiable, as it relates to UCONN past/present/future, and, if used properly as part of an integrated, well designed promotion and advertising campaign, will immediately identify the copy/commercial/other as being related to UCONN athletics. That is important.

Finally, the logo does not preclude UCONN or the Athletic Department from doing any of the other promotional stuff (State outline on field/court/ice is a really good idea) Dan and others have suggested as long as the logo is included prominently as part of the promotion and the promotion itself makes tactical sense as it relates the strategic goals of the overall campaign.

So, enough, already. The logo is probably fine. It's consistent use, by an organization that has seemingly been advertising averse, should be the concern.

I'm not sure why you're quoting me. My comment was directed at the person who wondered if people at Nike are better at marketing than us Boneyarders. I certainly think it's a safe bet based on Nike's experience experienceand track record.
