My most sincere congratulations to all the graduates of the University of Connecticut that attended Commencement today. What a beautiful day today. Commencement was absolutely wonderful. Today, my girlfriend graduated with a B.S in Bio after four wonderful years at Storrs. It was a wonderful day and a perfect way to celebrate Mothers Day with her family and my mother who also attended. The campus looked so beautiful under the bright sunny blue sky with the endless patches of grass

I'm really going to miss this place. If there is a second home for me besides Stony Brook, it would definitely be the University of Connecticut. I attended the 12:30 Ceremony at the Gampel. I can tell you that Basketball was a centerpiece of graduation day despite all the formalities. Its undeniable how much has College Basketball unified this great community.... and just when I thought it couldn't get any better: Shabazz Napier was the last name called and pretty much received a standing ovation. The kid captivated the hearts of the community and we all got so loud that it almost felt like a basketball game. He will definitely be in our hearts forever. I never took the time before, but today I took a ton of the pictures of all the banners. It was the first time I took a serious look at the banners and I was impressed. The dominance of College Basketball the past decades is without a doubt. I also counted 20 straight Sweet-16 appearances for the Women (a fun fact I wasn't aware of)... I was initially surprised not to see the 2014 banners there until I remembered they usually get unveiled the follow up season

We walked around the entire campus, took picture in the lake next to Chemistry building and attended a small reception in the Biology building. Overall, it was a great day and we finished our walk at the Dairy Bar for one last time.

I had so many emotions as I left UConn. I felt like a part of my youth was left behind. I'm no longer directly attached to my college years which I loved so much, but I feel like no one will ever take that away from me. It hurts closing this chapter, but I guess is part of life

My best wishes to the graduates.... and always remember: Students Today, Huskies Forever!

Most bittersweet day of my life. It'll feel weird in a few months not moving back with your friends, then a year after that it'll be weird that it isn't weird that you're not moving back with your friends. Unfortunately, that's the real world for you. Welcome to it and best of luck.

Bittersweet is the perfect word. It was absolutely surreal to drive away from there with a car full of my crap and know that I wouldn't be returning as a student any more. I still drive through there when I'm in the area and will reminisce about all of my adventures; good, bad, and illicit. Best four years of my life.

Yes, yet the "Huskies Forever" part for many of us is spot on target. There's a little piece of me forever in Storrs, and a whole lot of UCONN in my heart and even some in my brain forever.

Worn out, and dumpy, as some of buildings were in the 80s, it's the Connecticut school spirit, some education, and life experience(s) I valued, value, and always will treasure which pull at and inspire the Huskies' heart strings. Congrats, and all the best to our Class of 2014.

Go Huskies, Go UCONN!

Our two kids graduated from UConn years ago. But after this incredible season, we decided to drive up to UConn to purchase some gear. Well, the place is a beehive, and not just UConn but the area outside UConn. Construction going full blast right across from UConn, there were just so many people and cars. We had wanted to stop by Geno's Grille but was unable to find a parking place.

The UConn BB Training Center is huge and just about completed except for the landscaping on the outside. I understand UConn is looking for more money to outfit the interior.

There is absolutely lots of truth about the Husky Forever part. Go Huskies.

Graduated in '04 (the first of dual titles!) and had a mini-10 year reunion with some friends last weekend up there. Walking around it felt like yesterday...

Sounds like they had some good speakers this year but good lord commencements are the most boring thing in the world.

I regret not coming to my own graduation ceremony years ago. Had to drive a needy friend to his interview in NYC on the same day/hours. He got the job, it's all worth it. But I still very much miss being a part of that beautiful once-in-a-lifetime event.

How dare you? That's a special day!

I never understood why some of my friends opted not to attend the graduation ceremony. Its a great day to celebrate your academic achievement with your peers and relatives

With that said you can feel good that you helped one of your friends start their career which is definitely not a bad thing. That's kind in your part to think about others besides yourself
