Now 7-2 ..... first winning season since 1994

I think Baylor will lose to either OK State or Texas... perhaps both.

You are not a believer even after the demolition of OK?

The iron bowl game between Bama and Auburn was the best I've ever seen.

Btw, tDF, congrats on Duke's relative success in football this year. Rare to see, but welcomed, I'm sure.

We're fooling around with various topics while we twiddle away pre-pre-season.
So how about who you'd like to see in the national championship game.
Personally, I'm real tired of Alabama.
Will a team emerge out of the ACC? Florida State just put a huge hurting on Maryland.
Or Clemson, who already beat Georgia?
Do you vote for Urban Meyer, whose squad may go 2 years undefeated?
Will a worthy team emerge from the Big 12?
Stanford or Oregon?

My preference is for Oregon at the big dance, an exciting bunch that we back east don't much see.
A match-up with Clemson would be a big change from recent years.

So what's your hope...or realistic prediction?

I'm a born Buckeye. I had a nine year stint in CT where I fell in love with the basketball teams, men and women. But, football, TOSU all the way, baby! Got me in serious trouble in here in 2002, where the entire Big East was rooting for Miami to win.

Until the BCS show tonight, we will wonder if Ohio State moves to #2, after its 1 point victory vs. a
less-than-top-team. We know Florida State will be #1.

No, I am less sure of that now than before but the reason they would is money and only money and that means TV sets. CT has those by the basket full.
So I should turn on all 6 or 7 in the house when a UConn game comes on? That just might work!

As a Husky fan, I think you have to put all emphasis on how a team has played recently late in the season after the initial 9-game warm-up exhibition, so at 2-0 I really think UConn is the team to beat. Plus add in a back-up team field hockey NC, and what Dukie linebacker or FSU QB or OSU running back wants to square off against a Husky stickwoman ready to deprive him of certain essentials, and I think UConn should be a shoo-in for the big game.

Meanwhile, the BCS honchos list Ohio State as #2 and favored by 6 over Mich St.
They seem unworthy, but it may become moot, as I see Mich St as a likely winner.

If so, then the barnburner that is Auburn/Mizzou moves ahead. Fun, fun ahead.
