This is kinda nuts. They win a seemingly random national title once in 2016, and are now one win from the finals with a chance to do it again. Unlikely powerhouse. Still more work to do, but if they are able to pull it off, we could have a year with Vermont, Western Michigan, Cornell and Coastal Carolina winning four of the top six men’s team national titles. Yeah - “top” is open to debate. Ice hockey, lax and soccer don’t have full P4 participation so the door is wider for interlopers to sneak through and win one. Harder to win one in tennis or track and field. But still. The power conference schools who do compete aren’t in it to lose.

They been unbeatable for a while. Think they went into the CWS having won 23 in a row.
Also, coastal is usually pretty good in baseball year in and out.

Funny thing, Coastal Carolina used to be pretty frequently on the UConn regular season schedule during the Coach Pender years, with UConn playing at Coastal Carolina. It was something that I noticed when I started following UConn baseball closely about 15 years ago. However, Coastal Carolina in recent seasons has not appeared on UConn baseball's regular season schedule.

I recall that a number of people posting on the Boneyard used to complain a bit about Coastal Carolina's baseball home field when UConn played them.
