A steady diet of crack, stars and trannies......what could possibly go wrong? I thank him for the tiger blood "Winning" mojo in 2011 but now Chaz needs to cut out all the fast living and really watch his white tiger blood cell count.

My wife's friend was diagnosed HIV positive over 20 years ago, and remains very healthy and active. At one time I was waiting for her to die (my ignorance at work).

Low stress, good diet, meds and other healthy lifestyle changes make it so. Money helps but it can be overcome even for the not so rich.

AIDs is the killer. HIV does not have to lead to AIDS or at least right away. Its the poor lifestyle, neglecting HIV treatment. etc. that can be disastrous and deadly.

I was at a dinner about a year ago seated next to a doctor at Harvard Medical School who specializes in HIV / AIDS research and he said that, provided you've got decent health coverage, managing HIV in 2015 is a lot like managing diabetes. If you take care of yourself and you're vigilant about your health there's no reason you can't die of old age.

Affording the treatment is seldom an issue today. Patients that most often fail treatment today is related to substance abuse issue and inability to stick to the regimen of taking one to a few pills per day.

Of course, there are some patients who have had HIV for many years and developed resistant virus several years ago when we had fewer treatment options for which it is still a challenge to find an effective regimen.

Magic was diagnosed back in 1991 and is still in reasonably good health. Sheen was diagnosed with this in 2011. If he takes care of himself he can live a long time too.
