Okay, I agree this will never happen. But I think it would be extremely interesting.
Get rid of all the divisions. Just one big league, everybody plays each other 4 times or whatever gets us close to 162.
You already have a "Top 8" just like EPL. Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Cardinals, Giants, maybe Cubs, Mets, Phillies, etc. whatever.
You also put in promotion and relegation. And I think the difference between the best minor league teams/parks and the worst major leagues teams/parks are not THAT huge? Or at least would be fun. And f it MLB is paying everyone anyway.
Winner is whoever has most points at the end of the season. Consistency -- just like baseball.
Then you have like an FA cup where all the teams can play and maybe you do some best-of-3's towards the end.
