OT: Carol Channing RIP

Waaay back when I had a summer job which provided a bunch of us with up-close seats for Hello Dolly with Carol Channing in the lead. Everyone of us...none with much Broadway experience... walked out of the theatre joyfully trying to sing some of those songs. It was fantastic.

Carol Channing, legendary Broadway actress, dies at 97, publicist says
Wow, I too was taken by my mother to see Carol Channing in Hello Dolly with Louis Armstrong in it on Broadway! I always enjoyed her Johnny Carson appearances as well. I wonder if Broadway will dim the lights?

Remember her TV appearances well. Yet another star that the current generation has most likely never heard of.

.-.
I have Marlo Thomas' album "Free to Be...You and Me" and one of the cuts on the album features Carol Channing and that unmistakable voice.
