La Cueva del Chango is the place we had an awesome breakfast. Would be good anytime I expect. Just off the 10th Ave along a road that goes to the beach on the north side of Playa Del Carmen.

While on this topic, any recommendations on a family-friendly resort down there? Kids will be 2 and 4 when I play on going.

We took our daughter to Xcaret last year - we rather enjoyed it.

It's beautiful and pretty laid back, but there's a lot to see and do. Things like this walk up to your table while you're eating...whether that's upside or downside is up to you.

John Gray"s Kitchen in Puerto Morelos. American chef who married a local woman and has a great restaurant in this town that is in between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. I ate there three nights in a row even though dinner was included at my resort. I think he may have a second location in PM now too?
