This article dates back to 2010. It is about Alan Francis, horseshoe pitcher extraordinaire. Several basketball players can make 90+% of their free throws. Only Mr. Francis can make ringers 90+% of the time. In a 19-game tournament he made ringers on 917 of 1,016 pitches, a record 90.26 percent. Today he now has 22 world championships which is like saying world series. Both are championships of the USA, not the world. I was impressed when I learned Walter Ray Williams, the professional bowler, has 6 horseshoe championships. Walter Ray may be bowling's GOAT but Alan is horseshoe's GOAT.
