OT - BYU v. Texas

And the ACC and SEC wouldn't consider an OOC game v BYU as being on par w/ an OOC game v. every school in a P5..... makes sense

Apparently, it's hard to scheme against this guy, even with Texas' talent...

Or lack there of. 8 dismissals since Strong took over and a down year in 2013. They're in a rebuilding mode it would seem too.

"Hmmmm do we wanna play BYU in football? Nah they're not good enough. Let's play Duke. "-P5

I'd buy this comment if I didn't know that the second stringers at Texas are 4-star guys too...

Fair enough. Let's not get into t he star discussion. By Texas standards they still weren't great last year.

I won't get into the star discussion. I'll just say that based on their "offer lists", the kids that took the field for Texas were much more coveted by the top football schools than the kids that took the field for BYU. So there was no lack of talent. There was a lack of performance...

Agreed. Sounds like a troubled program to an extent. Strong has dismissed 8 and others have been suspended I believe. He isn't messing around out there in Texas. BYU is clearly a much stronger team than many anticipated.

Texas talent? They had zero players drafted this year.

Again, re-read my posts. There's a difference between talent and performance...

I wonder how Texas would fair against a talented Stony Brook team.

I am openly rooting for BYU the rest of the year. I hope they run the table and cause havoc to the playoff system. Hill is a Heisman candidate and deserves as much attention as anyone at a P5 school but won't get it because college football is corrupt.

SO if BYU runs the table where do they fit into the bowl system? Assuming they don't make the Top 4. Do they take the spot of the "Best of the G5"?

People can knock Stony Brook, but they had a bunch of transfers from good D-1 schools.

They were certainly D-1 size kids.

So did we score three more points against BYU than Texas did? I knew that FG was good for more than just right hash practice...

There doesn't appear to be any other G5 schools that are going to have that kind of resume so if they run the table they will get the G5 spot in the New Years day game
