Course looks VERY green in comparison to it's usual state. Should make things interesting.....

So the British Open was played in the U.S. and the U.S. Open is being played in Scotland. Interesting season.

Tiger is 25-1. Hmmm. I'll pass. At 5-1, I REALLY like Jordan Spieth.

Might be 40 mph winds on Friday.....pot bunker time!

Jordan Spieth tees off at 4:33 and Tiger at 4:55. Tiger according to Bookies is the 6th favored golfer to win tournament. Don't understand the logic behind that.

He has a lot of fans (who are betting with their hearts rather than their heads), he's won twice at St. Andrews, he led the field in proximity to the hole at the Greenbrier.

I actually would not be shocked if he won, surprised but not shocked.

The odds I saw had Tiger at 35-1, same as Phil, which I would say is about right. Spieth is 6-1.

Maybe Tiger has turned the corner, but I'm skeptical. In today's Washington Post, Sally Jenkins called him delusional.

Tiger only player so far that has bogeyed the first two holes. Starts out at +2 after 2 holes. Hits into the water on the 1st hole. 2nd Hole hits it short on 2nd shot and doesn't make it on the green. His par putt did lip out which was a bad break.

Looks like those that used emotions to bet on Tiger, may not win. It is early, but haven't seen any Tiger charges lately.

Spieth is tearing up the course. So is DJ. Both are -5 after 9 and they both look solid.
Barring a miracle turnaround, Tiger won't make the cut and he's only played 7 holes. He's +4.
I've never heard announcers "trash" Tiger like they are today. This from a group that would kiss his feet, in the not too distant past. Even mentioning him as "delusional" in relation to him catching Jack for most majors.

Tiger's biggest weakness to date has been his driving. Today his drives are landing in the Fairway and then his game collapses. Irons to the green he ends up short and then his putting is miserable.

He won't do it and maybe can't, but if he's smart take the year off and somehow go back to his swing when he first went pro. He's thinking too much and not playing instinctive golf.

The back 9 are playing much more diff

Taking some time off would be a good idea. It's more mental than mechanical. How many 3-5 ft puts did he miss today ? He finished with a 76. Only 2 golfers finished with worse scores so far.

-5 maybe a little disappointment after Spieth was -5 through 7, but you'll still take 67 at a major all day.
