I read on the "net" that Brianna January has left the CT Sun for Seattle!
The prospect of Sloot to Seattle becomes extra puzzling considering Bird and January are there. Is Canada still on the team this upcoming season too or is she a free agent now.

The Sun signed Courtney Williams and that caused Brianna to choose a new team

How stupid can the CT Sun management be? Williams has caused trouble wherever she's been! The Sun traded her to Atlanta because of problems!
January is a great defensive player!

Not disagreeing but I thought Williams left on her own accord?? It was Bentley (??) that was traded?

What else would you expect from a USF graduate? She came from a dirty team

Williams was a major reason why the Sun almost won it all in 2019. She'll be an upgrade from January on the court.

Geew1992 - Williams was traded because she was surprised & shocked and pi--ed off by the trade!
Bentley may have been in the same trade as Williams to Atlanta.

We'll agree to disagee as January is one of the best defensive players in the WNBA and also a good offensive threat!

Really going to miss Briann. A terriffic leader, fitness godess/gym rat, coach-on-the-floor and great role model for young players. By all appearances you couldn't ask for a better teammate. Her energy on the court was off the charts and she provided many, many huge sparks of enthusiasm and confidence for the Sun. A really awesome woman.

The success of bringing back Courtney (no idea how they can fit her contract into the current team) will be measured entirely on post season-results. She can be magic on the court (at least on offense) but as alluded to above, she has had her share of off-the-court issues and some "tensions" with former teammates. This has a bit of a "deal-with-the-devil" feel to it. Miller has always been a coach that valued culture and team chemistry above all else so this change must be giving him some butterflies as he cuts a little against that grain to make another grab at the gold ring.

IMO Miller is rolling the dice here with the knowledge that the Sun's window with this core group is almost closed. Courtney definitely provides an element that was missing last year. Between her return and AT's comeback to "playoff AT" form, that might just be enough to get the Sun over the top. After more than 10 years as a season ticket member I sure hope so...

There is Twitter chatter about Canada going to Phoenix potentially with former HS coach Nygaard. Take it for what it’s worth because there seems to be a lot of movement in this free agency. I didn’t think Williams was the issue for the Sun? I thought it was Bentley and Williams left of her own accord.

She was mad that Sun signed Dewanna Bonner for more money than what they were offering her. Bentley wasn't involved in that trade.

You have 4 front court players who need the ball add Williams to that, and no true point guard, could be a problem.

For the last few seasons, the Sun's Achilles heel has been the lack of quality bench players and point guard play.
