I think people posting/commenting on the internet tend to complain more than they praise. I know many people thought it was boring, but among critics, it's generally seen as a "great" episode. It wasn't my favorite -- I think it does not compare favorably to Mad Men's episode "The Suitcase," for example -- but it was important. I could watch the paint on Walter White's house dry and find it fascinating, so I think it's bizarre that anyone could be bored by an episode where such important things are communicated. (And whoever said it would be a JTS episode ended up being DEAD WRONG. So, again, I tend to somewhat dismiss the "worst. episode. ever." complaints by some people who didn't like to watch talking instead of explosions. I'm not referring to you, btw; I'm referring to the commenters to the article you linked.)
I thought last night's premiere was pretty good. Not GREAT, but solid.
