OT- Best sports book in Vegas for March Madness?

Did you ever watch a movie comedy (or a humorous commercial) by yourself? Laugh much? How about in a crowded theater? Different isn't it. You find yourself roaring along with the others, and chuckling at commercials you've seen before but never reacted to.
That's why going to Vegas for March Madness or The Super Bowl is hands down fantastic. Don't buy the "I've got to schlep 6 hours on a plane" drivel. Get psyched and have a ball. And don't buy the "I can't get a seat in a sports book". Get to know the folks that run it. Speak to them and make arrangements. It isn't that hard.
I was at The Wynn for this Super Bowl. I've been at The Mirage, both great places to watch. There are lots of others.
Every play evokes cheers and hoopla. It's your choice of course and lots of legitimate things (like money issues) can get in your way, but don't let naysayers on this board be one of them.

Does it really upset you so much if someone disagrees with you on what is a matter of taste?

I certainly didn't attempt to dissuade him from going - merely shared an opinion.

I understand that the Boneyard is moving towards a strict no disagreement on any topic policy, but I didn't realize that included what activities people like or how they consume media.

Opinions matter. That's what sells products. Testimonials. I don't care if you disagree with me. I just don't want others to deny themselves a great time because they listened to one particular opinion that I strongly disagree with. Doesn't mean that I'm right, but in this case I'm saying go to Vegas, especially since the OP has never been before. When I was a kid and was clamoring to go to the beach, my aunt told me not to go to the beach. "It's hot, it's crowded, the sand gets all over, etc." Thank goodness my uncle had a contrasting opinion!.

Is this in a ballroom? I stay at the cosmo often with Marriott points, like the place, but found both of their books to be relatively small with weird hours.

An underrated sports book is Bally's, (I know, freaking Bally's).....but its a big space with plenty of big screens.

The food at lagasse's is the best, and this is coming from a guy who cannot stand the concept of the celebrity chef.
Yeah, I think so. Haven't ever done March Madness there before but my buddy who lives there, and was at Cosmo last year for the tourney, said it was a good time.

He already said he was going and I think you might be overstating the impact of one person thinking it's overrated (not even don't go, just better uses of time when in Vegas).

Depends on how much that person is respected by the individual seeking advice. You may have greater influence than you think. :>)

Thanks guys for all the info!! I already can't wait!! Hopefully UConn gets it together so maybe we can meet up for our game One last question tho has anyone been to planet Hollywood for hoops on the mezz? Only asking cause I got offered pretty cheap tickets

.-.
just booked a trip to Vegas for the madness anybody who's been during the tournament know which ones are the best for all the games?

As a true degenerate there's nothing better than the first 15 bet at MGM. The whole place is electric for the beginning of every game. The Palazzo has the best food and awesome stadium seating. The mirage is an all time classic.

Get there early, go with a crew and save seats.

Buddies coming in from around the country, watching games all day , make a few bets, have dinner at Estiatorio Milos and then have a few martinis in the poker room before drifting off to sleep. Get up the next morning, watch a couple of games, lounge by the pool, have a nice lunch at Lotus of Siam before watching a few games that afternoon/evening. That's going to suck.

ALMOST as good as Mai Tais in Maui.....

Or drinks during any of the other Final Four/bowl game trips we've taken! I haven't given up hope that we will reconvene in Indianapolis in April. Actually I have.
