My cousin's band (from Torrington area) is looking to book some gigs around UConn. Any thoughts on good bars to look into? They play originals as well as DMB, Rusted Root, Allman bros, dead. Any thoughts appreciated.

Torrington has a long history of quality home grown bands. I owned a club called Water Street Station in Torrington years ago. The number, quality and variety of the bands from the area was noteworthy.

Hungry Tiger in Manchester is the most band friendly place in greater Hartford IMO. Live music almost every night of the week. Guy who runs it is pretty cool too

If the band is decent and wants to play in the Storrs area, they should have no problem getting a gig at Ted's or Huskies sometime. My buddies and I were able to score a few shows at the bars on campus simply by playing around a few off campus parties and recording a demo. Good luck it's a lot of fun!
