Flying into Arizona this summer and looking to find an area to stay in Phoenix or right outside. It's only going to be for one night as we're traveling to the Grand Canyon later the following day. Is there a street with good bars and food?

I’d also stay away from Tempe as Mill Avenue is geared more to ASU students.

I was just out there. Drove out to Flagstaff and stayed there. It's 90 minutes to the Canyon from Flagstaff

The Buttes is nice Yardigan. But there are literally twenty beautiful places to stay in the area.

Yep, eta that it's usually our 'work' spot, but great area to be in, with lots of top-shelf choices.

Summer here does suck and I’d head for Flagstaff as soon as possible but high end resort prices in Scottsdale are much cheaper in Summer.

Been awhile but of all the major cities in the USA the Phoenix area is the easiest area to figure out how to get around.

I am doing the same this summer. I am staying one in Scottsdale then seeing the grand canyon (south rim).
Make sure to visit Sedona. I was told by many people that it is beautiful.

Thanks for the responses. Any where to stay in the Grand Canyon besides camping? Looking for a place basically on or in the canyon

good luck finding a place to stay near the canyon. I would get on it asap bc there are not many places and they book up fast.

Not sure of the budget but The Phoenician in Scottsdale is very nice. It's a 5-star place, but it's probably not very expensive in summer.

As others have said, you can Uber anywhere. Old Town is cool.
