It was a win for the Game of Thrones and the Malice Palace.

Oh. Does Palace Malice come from GOT? I have never seen it. I was thinking of Danny Kaye.

Not really except there is a lot of malice in that palace.

I was pulling for Freedom Child, who faded badly at the end. Like reeeeaaaaallll badly. Oh well, good thing I don't actually bet money.

I had Palace Malace in my Pick-3 so I made a few bucks. But that race was an indictment the lack of quality in this crop. Palace Malice looked like he wanted to stop at the 8th pole yet no horse came close to catching him.

The main reason for the lack of stamina is that it is no longer bred into American thoroughbreds. The bulk of these horses will never run again at more than 9 furlongs. Belmont had a 12 furlong race on Fri and one on Sat but I doubt they have more than a couple in the remainder of the year. The race yesterday was slow but that may have been partially due to the fact that the track got harrowed before the race while all the day's previous races were on a sealed track. All in all it was a very competitive field from a handicapping POV. I guess it could be called "parity"
