OT: Barkley staying at TNT

Of course the NBA will offer some settlement, but I doubt Turner will accept, the only win is for them to get the rights either in court or via negotiation. And in court is undoubtedly the better odds even if they are long. I haven't read the exact contract language nor seen what arguments either side are making, so the chances could be anywhere from 50-50 to maybe 5-1?
turner has a 0% chance of winning a lawsuit other than for damages. a court is not going to order "specific performance" requiring two parties that dont like each other to engage in another decade of close partnership.

The outpouring of love for Inside the NBA over the past year has been so weird. It's fine for what it is, but people talk about a pregame show like it's some kind of cultural touchstone.
What “so weird” about it, a lot of people love it clearly it’s been on for 25 yrs, it’s just entertainment

Possibly and I would agree that a specific performance outcome/ruling is near 0%, but meanwhile they are in fact each performing a full year of a contract after the blood has spilled. This could facilitate talks while lawsuit leverage plays out (and even if specific performance ruling is out, a high enough probability or $ damages outcome propels NBA back to the table).

So not totally unfathomable the NBA on TNT continues, some new $ amount from Turner (more than Amazon) or the NBA gives Turner some new separate broadcasting right in addition to deals they've got with NBA & Amazon. Barkley appears to have bet on this for whatever that is worth.

Chaz don't bother me, he's our lucky charm

PS: I don't need everyone to stroke our backs, I have thick skin and I'm happy with where we are

It’s worth $0. I wanted tnt to get the C package instead of Amazon but that ship has sailed. NBA isn’t going to carve off a D package because that would require renegotiating the ABC packages with espn, nbc, and amazon

It's a thing you watch before the thing you want to watch comes on. It's not like people tune in for the pregame show. At least I don't

I stick around for the post game show though, sometimes when didn’t even catch game but see them on. To each their own, I find them entertaining and Ive always followed the league so it worked for me.

They cover the NBA. It's not that easy to cover it effectively and be entertaining. I think they do a great job.

It is when they go off-script.
