They have wanted heavy weights like Florida State, Uva, Clemson and or UNC? Other teams like BYU, were mentioned and a few possible AAC teams like Cincy, Memphis, Central and South FL. We shall see

Best case scenario would be B12 goes east, takes UConn and Cincy. Who knows what happens, but if the B12 shows interest in UConn, maybe the B1G or ACC finally come calling...

The choices are Minimal
The two best bets
Are BYU and Cinn
With UCF ,Memphis and CSU dark horses
We are probably 6th choice.
Adding UConn would be extremely bold and in the long term could be the best ROI
But boldness and long term thinking haven't been Big 12 trademarks.

If you want to take this news to the penultimate UConn optimism point....hopefully this is more of a "warning flare" from OK to Texas that they are unhappy with the LHN and the current situation in the B12, than it is about actually expanding the B12. Maybe this is the start of Oklahoma becoming the "partner" UConn needs with the B1G?;)

Of course with the way that Conference Realignment has worked with UConn, it probably means that the B12 is about to add UMass, URI, Buffalo and Central Connecticut and we are going to the FCIAC conference.

Ahh nothing like a new realignment false hope thread to occupy us this summer.

Best Case ...

Some higher end University in the B12 (or even the ACC) sees movement/activity as time to talk ... and the B1G and the SEC start opening the fridge to decide what they take next. Then you see 8 teams moving and WE have to be one. I do think that we are not high on the list for a Dallas based group of Texas teams with a few other dollops.

The best case is that the rumors of the B1G scooping us up are true, the B12 caught wind of it, and is reacting appropriately by discussing what schools would be their best options assuming another wave of realignment is coming. A man can dream right?

The nuts thing is we probably should be. It's so easy to dismiss Connecticut and UConn... but if you really sit down and consider the TV market, what SNY was willing to pay for a third tier rights, the overall success of UConn's athletic department, and even our limited success in football while we were a BCS team.. it's a no brainer. It's what's the most maddening about this whole thing.

Don't talk about conference realignment ?
Rule #1 of conference realignment is that every move screws UConn.

While other criteria has changed throughout the cycles of realignment, Rule #1 has been proven true time and again.

That paradigm will change with an 8 or better wins next year by our football team.

When you look at the total existing Market for the B12,they need us to survive as much as we need them.

USF and UCF both got about 4500 votes in the course of the last 10 minutes. I think your efforts are now futile .
Lol obviously someone used a program to do that.

Hopefully we get an offer and take it from the Big12, then the BiG realizes that they ****ed up and offer us a better deal. We get into a giant lawsuit and our slimy politicians "clean" it up, and we are BiG bound.
