Some new (to me) insights on the dynamics of the US Women's Soccer team over the last several years. The article focuses on material/teasers from her forthcoming book.

Solo quoted after last week's gold medal match:

"We felt like a team," Solo said after the Olympic final. "Everybody felt like they could contribute. Everybody. ... Honestly, it's the first time in my athletic career that I felt like it was a true team."

She's certainly a very intense personality - I liked Wambach's quote about how 'Hope saved the day, literally, five times!'

I didn't know that she and Solo had had a dust-up in 2007 when Solo was benched.
