If you throw an NBA franchise is a hobunk city with nothing else do to, sure it's going to be popular amongst the locals but that's small picture micro - the wider product known as the NBA and national or passive fanbase is where it starts to suffer/TV ratings and revenue.

lol, what does this even mean? OKC has the best record in the league and two of the best young players in the game, outside of either of the LA teams I'm sure Stern would be happy as hell if OKC made the finals and he could sell Durant Vs Bron. When Bron was in Cleveland you didn't have people clamoring for him to be another market(except NY homers who argue that his brand would grow in NYC). Obviously OKC isn't a major market but to argue that they shouldn't have a franchise is asinine.

Also, Charlotte is playing without Henderson, Maggette and DJ Augustin. They'd still stink even with those guys, but they wouldn't be scoring in the 60's and 70's like they are now.

And Johnny Mac is dead on. Just another example of lazy thinking. People think because MJ was the best player ever that he must be a genius basketball mind in terms of talent evaluation. Its been proven time and time again that its untrue. He's an awful executive and even worse evaluator of talent.
