I'm expecting to be snowed in, so I might check out the game. Who are the stars on the UConn squad? Anything to look out for (e.g. style, defense, etc.)?

Because it won't be a blow out and I dislike vandervere (sp?) I will watch this game......

Watch Stewart the 6'4" freshman for the Huskies......will be the best to come out of Storr I think, at least as good as Taurasi........she's long, can handle it, shoots it from 3 efficiently has a great left hand also and can swat shots....tough on top of the press with her length....oh yeah a good passer too, knows the game.......when she gets stronger (she's not weak though) she will be hell to deal with.......will make the 6'7" dude from Baylor look like an amateur eventually!! LOL...........If Hartley and KM? shoot it good they may put the hammer down on the Pine tree's........

Not a chance.

Got wvu/cuse in football and uk/ville in bball. Both are much much better options.

Will certainly be switching back and forth from the UK/UL game to the women but to watch to awful college football teams in a bowl which means zero, much rather watch the 1 & 2 women's I must admit!!

WVU was top 5 at one point. Then, it went bad. Real bad.

I will be watching the women. Stanford has an 80+ home winning streak going. Hope Uconn can break it. Uconn is 0-3 at Stanford.

If you are going to be watching, keep an eye on these UConn Players:

Kelly Faris #34: UConn's do everything blue collar player; she's leading the country in Assist to Turnover ratio and leading the Big East in FG%; and always guards the other teams best player, whether that's a guard, wing, or post.

Bria Hartley #14: Affectionately called "Big Game Bria" (as she tends to play her best games against the top talent) on the Women's board she has been battling a bad ankle this season, but seems to finally be back to All-American form (she was an AA last year as a sophomore). Look for her to step up against Stanford

Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis #23: Last year against Stanford was her big coming out party. She is from California and will have friends and family at the game. She has elevated her game from last year in which she was the Big East Freshman of the year.

Starters will be these three plus Dolson, our big guy down low, and Doty or Stewart.

This should be a very good game; Maples is tough and Stanford is riding an 80+ game home winning streak (UConn holds the all time record at 99). The last time UConn was there Stanford stopped their 90 game win streak. It will be a physical game and both teams will be ready to go.

Hope this helped and enjoy the 1 vs. 2 battle!

Can't believe Faris leads the country in assists to TO's......she throws some awful passes having said that solid all around and isn't a guard despite her size so much easier to have less TO's.....and so easy to get assists with the team around her........

Geno is loyal and while I love Doty and her will Geno should come out of the gates with all of his guns and that would be Stewart in the lineup....but his record proves he may know a thing or 2 more than I......;)

The men needed a player like Faris in the worst way last year. That was the missing ingredient.

Yes indeed - the y chromosome. An important ingredient.

Basically, we needed her 6-5 older brother who plays just like her. He could have also been named Kelly. It's a dual-gender name.

Kept hearing about how bad Stanford shot the ball.......UConn wasn't exactly UConn on offense either but still pummeled them.......

I will go as far as to say the NC is UConn/Baylor for sure!!! Stanford is way too slow to play UConn close at all............Geno is way too smart for Tara too!! If they play 10X the Huskeyettes win 10X

Faris also throws some amazing passes. Fantastic player, really.

I think Doty starting is a combo of three things, Bria tends to play better if she doesn't have to start the game at point, Stewart seems to do better off the bench, and loyalty to Doty.

Everyone should have a player like fairs, glue player..........not great at anything but real good at most and tough as nails.........no denying that. I like Doty but if your best player doesn't play the first 4:30 minutes there's a problem.....it worked and is working so geno knows best!
