Only thing I found interesting was that SHE was calling to complain about an unfair article... Nothing else. She is taking an active role in everything UConn and trying to change perception personally not through someone else.
Oh! I thought you were agreeing with whaler that the opening line was passive aggressive and uncalled for. My mistake. And yes it demonstrates she is hands on. But that doesn't surprise me.

It's shocking that you don't understand the level of grift that the UConn police force represents and don't park next to her when she rolls in with a police escort.

That article is an embarrassment. A total and utter joke. If you are writing about Newtown and what the school did in support maybe not spend the first paragraph taking a passive aggressive shot at a newspaper. It's childish.

First whaler11 goes way out on a limb to ... DING our National Champion Women's BB. Now he goes after our Women President. No, whaler11, I do not think you read those sentences like most every rational being. Motorcade? Really - they were controlling traffic.

You are a misogynist. Congrats.

Well you aren't above cheapshots I guess. I make legitimate points about women's basketball and the University President is a passive aggressive hack and I'm a misogynist.

I can't wait until y'all turn on her. It will be as entertaining as the PP support and the NBC nonsense.

You ... went ... way ... out ... of ... your ... way.

Motorcade? You make it sound like she was Lucy getting a ride in the Macy's parade with the UConn Campus Police holding the strings. She made a comment of how the UConn officers went to Newtown to control traffic. That's all. "Passive aggressive" - only if you think that a Strong Woman is intimidating.

Is everyone who thinks Manuel sucks racist and everyone who thinks P sucks ageist? What about the donut joke makers?

That may as well be your point - because that is as much evidence as you've got.

I sometimes read other teams boards to see what is going on with their teams, or the conference stuff and inevitably you stumble upon the local fool of the board. I'm glad to see that Whaler is making sure we can play with the big boys in that respect.

.-.
Well, I did not parse every word, but my impression is that Suzy is going out of her way to remind people that UConn is the state's university and that it is connected to the communities and not isolated in a ivory tower. Overall I thought it was positive. I like Herbst. I think that she badly misplayed the ACC invite, but I still like her.

I think the point was that the UConn police, by virtue of their work in an environment which deals with news coverage on a regular basis, major athletic events and also deals with large crowds and getting various celebrities, politicians and athletic teams through those crowds and to their destinations on time, all on a fairly regular basis, had a specific skill set that the typical small town police force doesn't have. Providing that type of assistance with logistics to Newtown was particularly valuable and something I hadn't thought of, quite honestly. good for the UConn PD.
