As a Celtics fan, I've been pretty happy that Wiggins has been dropping in people's eyes. Some have him going 4th now behind Parker, Embiid and Randle. I thought Wiggins' abilities would make him a better pro than the other 3. Parker is a force on the college level, but may not have the quickness to do what he does now in the pros. Randle might become an Elton Brand like wide boy, which is a good thing to have, and Embiid may develop into a quality big man. But Wiggins looked to me like a freshman Len Bias--just needs time.
Now, over the last 2 weeks, I've been watching Kansas and I'm astounded by how bad they are defensively. It's like Self is channeling Roy Williams over there. And Wiggins is one of the worst offenders. Can't believe he is this bad defensively after a full year with Self. He is so easy to beat off the dribble--I've never seen a player play such matador defense. He's not even in a crouch and his feet are so close together. It's so easy to cross him up, it's astounding. He's only 19 or so, so any NBA team that takes him better hope his natural athletic abilities will translate to learning defense--but for now, he's a risky pick if solely because of D.
