First of all, I had no idea it was in Hartford.

Second of all, the strangest format I've ever seen: the 8/9 game, quarterfinals, and semis were this weekend in Hartford. The final is not until Saturday at the home court of the Highest seed.

It's great that this event is in Hartford. I had a chance to go last night and the atmosphere was great. Plenty of UVM fans in town. Hope it stays here for a long time

A lot of low-major conferences have had that kind of format for a very long time now (so it's not that strange). It is designed to reward the higher seed by giving them a home game. It also creates a great atmosphere for the championship game. I was at the championship game last year which was played on BU's home court at Agganis Arena. My Terriers finally won the America East tourney for the first time since my freshman year at BU. It was great.
