Albany gave UNC all they could handle last year in the first round of the NCAAs.

They are coached by Katie Abrahamson-Henderson who played for CVS at Iowa way back when.

She coached for Coach P. as well.
 
Albany kicked butt last season -- some personnel graduated (as did some in-conference competition) but they seem to have found their sea legs....

She was an outstanding HS player in my hometown and she was also part of my confirmation class at church back in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Katie is (was, at least) very down to earth and knows her hoops. Glad to see her doing well in the coaching ranks. I'd lost track of where she was coaching lately.
 
Albany also has a 6-9 kid. Don't know how good she is...but that could be useful against EW.

Duke getting EW involved early as she has 7 points. Duke up 26 - 22.

Richards has 18 for Albany.

UConn is an even better mid-major.

How can this topic be OT? We just played Duke and it's about women's college basketball.
