Entertaining game. South Sudan was a 43 pt underdog among London bookmakers. The development of basketball in Africa has been a 30 year commitment. They’ve always had size and athleticism. The thing that really impressed me about South Sudan is how well they execute their offense.

But todays NBA is way better than 25 or 30 years ago. I dont care about the "world has improved" argument. USA should ALWAYS be at least 20 points better than the rest of the world. Look at Uconn switching over to a more euro style offense and how it destroyed opposing teams this past season. Its not a coincidence.

I mean the last, what, 6? MVPs have been won by guys born overseas? None of the top 3 guys this year (Jokic, Luka, Shai) were American. Objectively, the gap has closed significantly

Absolutely - many of the stars are now international players which is good for the game IMO. But the US should still dominate these tournaments due to our depth alone
